Reading Habits

Well, I don't have any particular reading habit. When I'm seen reading, that will probably be during my spare time. Being an avid reader, I used to read about 3 novels a month in the school holiday periods. However, I do not have that much free time to spare nowadays, so I hardly read. I do intend to catch up with my reading though, with the help of some better time management.

Philip Malloy' Diary: Why did I do it?

Author: Mattheus,MrCarLover1A133 // Category:
Why did I do it? Why? I should have thought twice before making such a foolish mistake. Perhaps all I wanted to do was attract attention, attract Allison Doresett's attention and play it cool in front of her. It all starts to backfire on me right now. I've landed perfectly fine situations into complicated ones. All because of my selfishness, my greed for my personal desires. I have harmed others, and most shockingly, myself. Perhaps I should not have lied about wanting to be patriotic, but have admitted that my purpose in humming "The Star-Spangled Banner, was to irritate Miss Narwin. A mountain would not have been made out of this molehill then...

I really wish there was a time machine to bring me back in time and amend this grave mistake I am guilty of having commited. If only I had a second chance...If only I had made a wise decision...If only...

Nothing But The Truth

Author: Mattheus,MrCarLover1A133 // Category:
I just finished reading Nothing But the Truth and though I did manage to grasp the gist of it, I did not thoroughly enjoy it.

Firstly, I feel that there was hardly any organisation of the things written in the book. For example, you have the principal speaking to the reporter and before you know it, Philip is writing in his diary. I feel that the author could have just written it in the form of a novel. Perhaps that would enlighten the book further.

In addition, the ending was so brief that I had to re-read it a couple of times before I actually found out what had happened.

More tomorrow, its late.

Signing off,

Getting used to secondary school life isn't much of an easy task. Well, let me explain why. Firstly, my sleeping time gets slashed by one full hour due to the fact that I live far away from my new school. ONE! I've read that even something as minor as 15 minutes can contribute to your sleeping debt which will eventually accumulate to be a lot of time if you don't catch up with your sleep.

Secondly, instead of studying only 4 subjects, the number of our subjects has been multiplied by more than two! More subjects means more homework, more pressure, and the lastly, the average student's worst fear....MORE TUITION! Now, notice I used the word average and not every. Thats because I personally have wonderful parents who don't believe in the myth that tuition will boost your grades. They believe learning is a journey which should be enjoyed an as long as I do my best, they will be satisfied with whatever results I have achieved. Mentioning this, I feel that most parents nowadays only believe that grades are important. They seem to have forgotten that learning should be a joy, and that grades are just a gauge of your improvements.

Well, enough about that topic, moving on, though I know that I will have to take some time to adapt to new life, I have already made some new year resolutions. In fact, I do hope to be able to get at least an A1 for my two languages, Science and Maths. I also hope to be able to get a gold for my NAPFA test. In my opinion, these two goals won't be easy to attain but I do hope to be able to achieve them and hence, I will give my best effort to ensure my goals come true!
