The title of the book that has impacted my mother greatly is "How to Be Like Women Of Influence", co-authored by Pat and Ruth Williams. My mother read it last year, somewhere in the month of June. Basically, the book is a collection of the lives of twelve amazing women, who pressed forward the boundaries of race, religion, culture and business to make their own contributions to the world. Each woman has a story to tell of how they made a difference in their period of existence and in the environment that they were brought up in. Each also has a sense of purpose and determination to make a significant impact in the society. This book has inspired and challenged my mother to step out of her comfort zone and dare to take the boldness to add value to the people around her.

One of the women that inspired my mother the most is Oprah Winfrey. She had a bitter childhood as an American black, molested and raped, mocked and ridiculed. Some things that the book said regarding Winfrey stayed in my mother's mind: If money is your motivation, forget it. In addition: But the pursuit of money was never her objective, only the pursuit of quality. " Part of the reason why I am as successful as I have been is because success wasn't the only goal. The process was. I wanted to do good work."
